Built by the British Manufacturer Aston Martin, the One-77 is the most extreme and fastest road-going Aston to ever be created. Koenigsegg enters the top 10 list with its CCR model that is a mid-engine sports car that also briefly held the ‘world’s fastest’ title before being vanquished by the original Bugatti Veyron. The CCR model reached a top speed of 242 mph in 2005 at the Italy’s Nardo Ring and it was among the trendsetters for faster supercars, after McLaren and Ferrari of course.

The CCR is an earlier generation of Koenigsegg’s cars, but it still manages to be one of the fastest. Not to mention, the Koenigsegg was the first ever production vehicle to beat McLaren’s 8-year streak as the fastest production car on the market. The car comes equipped with a large and powerful 4.7-liter V8 Engine that is capable of generating 806 hp and 920 lb-ft torque. According to manufacturer estimates, the vehicle can zoom from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and can complete a standing quarter mile of 9.7 seconds at 146 mph.

Produced by SSC North America (formerly known as Shelby SuperCars), the SSC Ultimate Aero is a mid-engine sports car that held the title of the world’s fastest production car from Guinness World Records for 3 years (2007 to 2010), till Bugatti introduced the Veyron Super Sport. However, in 2013, the Guinness World Records disqualified the Bugatti Veyron’s record time due to some unknown reasons and reinstated the SSC Aero as the fastest production car ever.

However, this change too was reverted five days later. Regardless, for a rather new company in the market, SSC has generated a lot of attention with its Ultimate Aero car. The vehicle comes equipped with a 6.3-Liter Twin-Turbocharged V8 Engine that is capable of generating an impressive horsepower of 1,287 and torque of 1,112 lb-ft.

It has a top speed of 256 mph, just 1 mph less than the GT9-R! Nevertheless, with its beast of an engine the vehicle can easily hit 200 mph in under 16 seconds, which is quite reasonable for a car that is available for only €550,000. The only drawback of the vehicle is it doesn’t feature any electronic driver aids to help control the power of the engine. The vehicle may gain both positive and negative reviews, as some would like a purer driving experience and others would bemoan the lack of top of the line safety features.

Built by the German tuning company, 9ff, the GT9 is a supercar based on the historic Porsche 911. In fact, the looks and exterior styling of the car is also pretty similar to the 911, only with the interior of the car being stripped out for lightness and looks basic as compared to the Porsche. The car is faster than the original Bugatti Veyron, but slower than the SuperSport model.

Regardless, the GT9-R is purely a beast on the roads and comes equipped with a rather unique technology. It is fitted and modified with a 4.0-Liter Flat 6 Engine (six cylinders arranged horizontally in two banks of three cylinders) which enables the vehicle to produce an impressive horsepower of 1,120 and torque of 910 lb-ft.

The Bugatti Veyron held the Guinness World Record for being the fastest supercar in the world for years and was the first ever production car to exceed the 250 mph mark. However, after facing a few technical difficulties, its title was taken over by the Koenigsegg. This is when Bugatti introduced its Super Sport model that has a max speed of 268 mph.

5 mph less than the Koenigsegg, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport comes equipped with an 8-Liter Quad-Turbo W16 Engine that is capable of generating an impressive torque of 1,106 lb-ft and horsepower 1,200 HP, enabling the car to go from zero to 60 in 2.4 seconds. 10 Extinct Animal That Returned

We often heard that Some species is extincted from the earth but  it is very seldom that we hear that some extinct species returned from extinction. Yes, it may sounds like the Jurassic Park movie but this type of things sometimes happened naturally. It will be more precise if we say sometimes we make mistakes and miss to count or find them. 

Here is the list of 13 species that once thought to be extinct but still alive in earth

COELACANTH

Coelacanth is a ancient world fish which was believed to be extinct in the Cretaceous Period about 65 plus million years ago. In 1938, one person miraculously discovered this fish in the East coast of South Africa near the mouth of Chalumna River. This species is lies among the oldest living jawed fish known to exists. The live about 100 years and swim about 90 to 100 meters below the surface of the water.

BERMUDA PETREL

It is believed to be extinct since 1620's. It remained extinct for 330 years. then in 1951, 18 nesting pairs were found in a very remote rocky islets in Castles Harbor. The are still battling extinction with only about 250 individuals.

CHACOAN PECCARY

In 1930 we only describe them by fossil records. But in 1975 researchers discovered one living species. To they there are 3000 known animals of this species. They resembles the pigs but they cannot be domesticated. It is found in the Chaco regions of Paraguay. 

LORD HOWE ISLAND STICK INSECT

Sometimes it referred to a land lobster or a walking sausages. It believed to be extinct in 1930. But in 2001 with only 30 individuals this Lord Howe Island  Stick Insect was found on the small Islet of Ball's Pyramid, the world's tallest and most isolated sea stack

MONITO DEL MONTE

It remains extinct for 11 million years until it had been discovered in the thicket of Chilean bamboo in the southern Andes. This creature more closely related with their Australian Marsupials than the South American Marsupials which lived 55 million years ago.

LA PALMA GIANT LIZARD

This creature extinct for 500 years until it is rediscovered in 2007 in the La Palma region of the Canary Island. In the IUCN red list still lists it as the Extinct species.

TAHAHE

This flightless birds believed to be extinct but in 1948 this species rediscovered near Lake Anua. This bird is still endangered with only 250 individuals.

CUBAN SOLENODON

This strange looking creature is very rare and only 34 individuals ever found. It is discovered in 1861 but from 1890 to 1974 no individuals were found. So, it is believed to be extinct. In 2003 one individual found and given a name Alejendrito.

CALEDONIAN CRESTED  GECKO

It is described first in 1866 and then after no individuals found. So it was put in the Extinct species lists but in 1994 it is again came into existence.

HOLLAND MOUSE

It was first discovered in 1843. then it was vanished from the earth at least for a century. In 1967 it was rediscovered at Ku-ring-gai National Park in Sydney. After a lot of conservation effort it is still fighting for existence. One of its remote population was wiped out in a wildfire in 1983. Though the healthier population still roaming the earth in Tasmania and New South Wales.

WHAT KILLED THE SABRE-TOOTH CATS?

Sabre-tooth cats, one of the most fearsome cats of all time, rule the land of the North America in the ice age. They are the top predator of the land of North America in the Ice Age. Huge preys like the Bison, horses are the main prey of the Sabre-Tooth Cat. The normal temperature of the North America never exceeded more than 40 degree in the complete Ice age era. In that time most probably the land of North America is not like this. Most probably the places are not dry and there exist huge forests with big trees and grasslands. This forest and the grasslands create huge covers for the Sabre-Tooth Cats to hunt. If we see the bone structure of the Sabre-Tooth Cat, we find that, the sabre-tooth cats are much heavier than other big cats of today. This indicates they are much slower than today’s cat. So they must be much more dependent on their sneak attack. So the covers from the grasslands and the forests with huge trees are very much in favour of them – That makes the Sabre-tooth cat the top predator of the entire North America in the ice age.

Now we are entering 12,000 years ago from today. The time is changing. It is the End of the Ice age era. The climate is changing rapidly. The ice is melting rapidly. The forestland with huge trees and grasslands become the place of much drier open field with short grasses. That is making the most of the herbivorous megafauna migrate. But surprisingly one megafauna is looking like very much adoptable with this environmental change – It is the Bison. And actually in this new environmental condition the bison are more comfortable and their population increases in those open field.

After ruling the North America, now suddenly the Sabre-tooth is losing its grip in the wild. In fact they are decreasing rapidly. In the time of the ice age the maximum temperature never crossed 40 degree, but now the temperature is much higher, the lands become drier; the big land forests and the grasslands are gone. These cause a huge problem to the sabre-tooth cat to hunt. We know the sabre-tooth cats hunting completely depends on the fact that how much they are capable of being camouflaged. Since all the big tree forests and grasslands are now gone and they are replaced by the open fields, Sabre-tooth cats are losing their chance of being unseen. We can simply say the climate is betraying the Sabre-tooth cats in these days. Also the numbers of the Bison population increasing now – This gives the bison herds a lot of more pairs of eyes to watch their backs. So they can see the cat from a long distance and can run away. Sabre-tooth cat figure is not built to chase down a prey and hunt it down, as they are much slower than modern world cheetah, lions, tigers etc.

This new world makes the Sabre-tooth cats food less. They started to decrease from the world only because of the food. In their last days, the sabre-tooth cats lived a life where they can see their prey standing not too far from them but still out of their reach.

The last sabre-tooth cat – a female cat, most probably has two kids. She tried to hunt bison for many times but failed every time. Then she abandoned its kids and travelled long for food. It finally reaches the La Brea Tar Pit and sees some dead or trapped animals. She entered the tar pit and got trapped in the tar and died there.

The Last Sabre-Tooth Cat died like this and The Sabre-Tooth Cat extinct from the world.
