Marsupials antechinus kill itself making love

The rare marsupial antechinus loves nookie so much it does not eat or sleep for a fortnight - often dying from exhaustion as a result.

Recent finding reports suggests that this animals love fest is attempted my each male to spread their genes as widely as possible.But this effort effects their lives. The Male antechinus are more prone to infections, ulcers and even internal bleeding.

According to the reports this excessive love for sex takes this species to the brink of extinction. Reports suggests that half of the adult males died because of the their sex love.

If antechinus extinct, these effects a lot on other species. Some plants depends on these animal's assist to their pollination. If the antechinus died out, these plant could be extinct too.

"It's very possible some of these beautiful species could go extinct," biologist Thomas Mutton said, "There are many species at risk in Australia and it's really something I think as a society we need to think about more deeply."
